Dwarf Gourami
Dwarf Gouramis typically do best when kept with one male gourami per tank (although they are compatible with female Dwarf Gourami). Having multiple males in an aquarium will bring about competition between them, and the strongest one usually ends up outcompeting and dominating the other weaker male Dwarf Gourami.
Gourami are considered a 'Labrynth fish' and are classified in the suborder Anabantoidei. Fish in this order are different from other fish in that they have an organ called a labrynth, which allows them to gulp air and utilize oxygen from the surface. This is an adaptation for living in low-oxygen waters.
